I'm Tara. I'm 56, I'm based in the UK, and I run AI Easy Over 50 for freelancers, solopreneurs and small business owners who know AI matters but don't quite know where to start.

I spent over twenty-five years as a graphic designer. In all that time, I never really enjoyed it. What did fire me up was ideas. I've always had an inventive brain, always working on creative side projects to fill the gap where graphic design fell short.

Becoming an Artist

Then about seven years ago I started creating art again after years of working digitally. I co-created a website and podcast with a friend to encourage others to get creative through monthly challenges. A few years later, I decided to go all in and try to make a living from my art. I started building an audience and selling work.

Discovering AI

I discovered AI a few years ago and started using it to help with my art and social media. I loved it immediately. It finally felt like I had someone there who could do anything, from simple copywriting to acting as a thinking partner and advisor. An artist friend in an online group kept telling me I knew enough about AI to do something with it. I never took it that seriously at the time.

Art Burnout

Then, just before Christmas, I hit a wall. I simply didn't want to paint. I think I had burnt out. I found myself waking up feeling stressed for no obvious reason, and my partner told me to take a break. That quiet time gave me space to think.

Why I started AI Easy Over 50

I kept coming back to what my artist friend had said about doing something with AI. I also noticed that most of my friends and family over 50 barely used it at all. My partner had access to it through work but hadn't touched it because he didn't know where to begin.

Most AI content online is presented by much younger people. The tutorials assume you're already comfortable with technology. Nobody was really making content for us, people over 50 running businesses on our own, with good skills built over decades, who just weren't sure how to get started with AI.

So I decided to make it myself.
